Noelle Porter
Hall of Fame Inductee
Noelle Porter is a member of the Potosi High School Class of 2024 and is being inducted into the Potosi Trojan Hall of Fame for holding the title of 2024 MSHSAA Speech and Debate State Champion in Prose Reading.
Throughout her time as a Trojan, Noelle was a dynamic leader, serving as Senior Class President, President of the Thespian Society and Drama Club, and Captain of the Speech and Debate team. She was also Vice President of National Honor Society and Director/Editor for PTTV, while contributing to a variety of extracurricular activities including Concert Choir, Swing Choir, Student Ambassadors, Bible Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Volleyball, Girls Basketball, Track and Field, and was involved in the the First Baptist Church youth group and worship team.
Noelle graduated high school with a 4.1 GPA, ranked first in her class, received Summa Cum Laude honors as well as the Principal’s Leadership Award. She is currently attending Southwest Baptist University, majoring in Media Studies with a minor in Marketing, where she is continually involved as a member of the Dutile Honors Program, SBU Speaking Bearcats Forensics Team, Discipleship Groups, SBU Chorale, Abundant Life Club, Chapel Band, and the Sports Media Team. With her passion for communications, Noelle plans to pursue a career in broadcast media with the one goal of being a light for Christ in a global society.
Noelle was a member of the Potosi High School Speech & Debate team her Sophomore, Junior & Senior year. During her time on the team she competed in a variety of events including Duet Acting, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation & Prose Reading. Her junior year she was a state qualifier & competitor in Humorous Interpretation. Her senior year she was District Champion in both Prose Reading & Humorous Interpretation, earning the right to qualify for State Competition. At State she was ranked in the Top 6 Humorous Interpretation competitors, and was State Champion in Prose Reading. To give some perspective, the 2024 speech season did not compete in classes, so all schools in the State of Missouri regardless of size & location, competed together. Noelle beat every single Prose Reading competitor in the State to be the top.
Her Speech Coach has this to say about her:
“Noelle is top tier. She persevered through all adversity and worked to achieve her goals her senior year. She became State Champion while also balancing academics and numerous extracurricular activities. Her talent and creativity know no bounds. She understands that talent can only get you so far and that it takes hard work paired with talent and good character to make you an outstanding student athlete. Her consistency with practicing, critiquing and setting goals for growth are truly the reason she has achieved this honor. Students like Noelle Porter make me proud to be a Trojan, because she is a representative of Potosi’s best. Never stop being you, Noelle. Be tenacious, caring, and never compromise your beliefs! Aim for the stars.”
Congratulations, Noelle Porter for your achievements in the PHS Speech & Debate team. Welcome to the Potosi Hall of Fame.
